         Shilparamam is an arts and  crafts village showcasing various art forms and handicrafts of various artists from all over the state. shilparamam plays host to myrid traditions of art and crafts of the country


GOLCONDA FORT
      




This magnificent fort located 11 kms on  western outskits of the city , was established by the  kakatiya dynasty  in the 13th  century. the name Golconda was derived from  telugu word  "GOLLA KONDA" which means shepherd's hills , originally was a mud fort. later on was expanded by the  Quli Qutub shah kings into a gigantic granite fort, with 10 kms long  outer walls,  eight  gateways, numerous royal appartments and halls, the entrance gate called the  Fateh  Darwaza is studded with big iron spikes to prevent the invader's elephants from battering it down. The main entrance hall is a marvell of enginneering of olden days has an acoustical effect,  a hand clap below the dome reverberates and can be heard at bala Hisar the highest point in the fort about one kilometer away, severing as warning to the residents of those times. The sound and light show in amitabh bacchan's voice, is a newely added attraction at the fort bringing to life the legends of Golconda and its history.

               Hyderabad has several beavtiful  gardens, one of the most popular being the public gardens. it encloses the state legislature, state Archaelogical  Muesm,   jubilee hall,  jawahar bal bhavan  and telugu lalitha kala  Thoranam, an open-air theatre.

               Lumbini park  is situated on the shore of  Hussain sagar lake. This  beautiful  entertainment park has  musical water fountain a floral clock and have a laser show.

BIRLA  MANDIR

                 Built at a height of 280 feet on kala  pahad, this temple of  lord venkateswara is  known as Birla Mandir, is built in white  marble. The temple is a blend of north and south indian architecture.

  THE SALAR JUNG MUSEUM

                 The  Museum is treasure of art and antiques collected mainly by Mir yousuf Ali khan salar jung  3 (1889-1949), the prime minister of the seventh nizam of Hyderabad,  salar jung 3 inherited quite a few items from his father and grand father, but a large majority of the collection was acquired by the salar jung 3. This museum has 40,000 objects of world art, comprising indian art, middle Eastern art, far eastern and european art,and sculpture, the interesting one is that of in veil. The library here has over 43,000 articles and 50,000 books and rare manuscripts of arabic, urdu and persian. the paintings here are rare collection of watercolor paintings of 19th century painters of Europe.
